Making Planking

This week we have THE " Garrett Conover" visiting to help out in the shop. Garrett has the pleasure of making planking. Yesterday he and Rollin planed the larger rough stock into the proper width. Then later they resawed the pieces into rough plank thickness. Now Garrett is planing them into uniform thickness. Later he will send them through the the thickness sander as many times as needed to sand them to a finish exact thickness. The will have a  final pass on the best side so they all have one finished side. This process will take the better part of today.
