We have another canoe building class for the next eight days.  Alice Brylawske, from West Lawn PA,  and her father Mark Zalonis will be building a 13 ft American Beauty.  Alice and Mark are no strangers to the shop.   They have been friends for over twenty years.  I've worked on several canoes for Mark and in 2007 Mark and Alice built a 17' Atkinson Traveler for Mark.  This 13' Beauty will be for Alice.  

Marks and his family has been guided on many Maine canoe trips by Garrett Conover.  Garrett will also be working in the shop this next week so we'll be having a grand reunion.  Garrett will still be milling out cedar but by the end of the week our stock pile should be well supplied and Garrett will be back to his real work of  wilderness guiding.  He has a 10 day Maine snowshoe trip coming up and we have lots of snow to do it on!
