Baxter's boat is all done!  The finishing of the canoes always seems to take a lot more time than it should.  Each coat of varnish and paint has to be sanded by hand.  Each coat of varnish or paint has to dry a day or two before it can be sanded.  When there is more than one color of paint then it doubles or triples the number of days before the final coat of paint is done with.  We may only have less than an hour of work in the sanding and painting per every two days.  What we really need is a $20,000 heated, climate controlled paint room so we could get several coats per day but that's not going to happen anytime soon!
Here is a shot of the original condition of  Baxter's boat as it came into the shop.
