Well the 2010 Wooden Canoe Assembly is over. The four day event is a wonderful event with many exciting canoes from all over North America.  There are a lot of different types of informal classes all related to wooden canoes that are all open to the public.  I taught a steambend class and a understanding canoe plans class.
Here is a picture of Peter and his son Telos manning our little booth where we displayed our canoes and sold some of our building items.  You can see the heat and long days are kind of wearing Peter down but Telos is ready for more!

This is a picture with a lot of canoe building power!  That's me on the left, Kevin Martin in the middle and Scott Barkdoll on the right. Kevin and Scott are excellent canoe builders with their own companies. Both have been building a wide variety of wooden boats and canoes for many years and we all have had a lot of similar experiences in growing our businesses.    I think we are all surprised that we have been able to make a living doing what we love.  We are all in New England but we don't seem to cross paths too often so its nice to get together a bit when we can.
